![]() ![]() I’m using four different devices (desktop, laptop, tablet, phone) and I’ve seen this on all four of them, and definitely lost data as a result of not noticing things were out of sync. Since Simplenote will sync across your devices for free, your notes are. As your collection grows, stay organized with tags and pins, and find what you need with instant search. Open it, jot down some thoughts, and you’re done. If I notice that a note is out of date, the only way I’ve found to “force” an update is to manually log out and back in again – that’s a real pain and I can’t see why it’s necessary, but honestly the problem is that devices aren’t syncing automatically and reliably. Simplenote is an easy way to take notes, create to-do lists, capture ideas, and more. Surely the server should be able to recognise that the update came from a device which was out of date with the server and give some kind of warning? Even worse (and to my mind, unforgivably) if I don’t notice and just update the note on my phone, the PC edits are lost unless I notice and manually go into the history to find them. Hit Continue and Scrivener shows you the updated file on the left side in the Updated Documents window. In the sync dialog you will see which scenes have been updated (in my case Scene 5). I often have Simplenote open on both my computer (Windows 7) and on my phone (android). Go back to Scrivener and sync with Simplenote again. Traditionally, youd do a record lock and release but that cant work here. Then, when I go back to my phone, the update just isn’t there. Im wondering (somewhat blindly) if a forced sync on closing the app OR on going from one note to another OR on a settable time of no activity (signifying Im done for now). One tool I recommended was Notational Velocity, a service that syncs with Simplenote. However, I haven’t used it for a while as I’ve been trying to get to grips with using Evernote. I’m getting really irritated by the unreliability of cross device sync in Simplenote, and wondered if anyone else had seen this or had any tips?įor example – I’ll create a note on my phone. Before Christmas I organised a productivity-focused call for some of us at the Mozilla Foundation. ![]()
